Letizia Goretti is General Partner of our biotech investment strategy, bringing more than 25 years of international experience across the life sciences sector, spanning pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, venture creation, and innovation ecosystems.

During her career at Johnson & Johnson, she held leadership roles across the full value chain of innovative therapeutics, from early development through product launch and commercialization. She contributed the introduction of breakthrough therapies in HIV and HCV, managed commercial portfolios as well as external innovation initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas, and built partnerships connecting industry, healthcare systems, academic institutions, and public stakeholders.

Through her involvement in the emerging intersection of human genetics, genomics, and large-scale population health data, with initiatives such as the UK Biobank and Our Future Health, she developed a unique perspective on how deep data can transform discovery, drug development, and precision medicine.

Alongside her corporate experience, Letizia has built a strong entrepreneurial track record as CEO of Alia Therapeutics, a biotechnology company developing next-generation genetic medicines based on proprietary genome editing technologies. In this role, she has led all key aspects of company building, including financing, intellectual property strategy, business development, team growth, strategic partnerships, and translational execution.

Beyond her operational and investment activities, Letizia actively contributes to the broader life sciences ecosystem. She held advisory roles for the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) on genomics strategy, currently serves on the Board of Italian Tech Alliance, and participates in European initiatives focused on innovation policy, and startup and scale-up strategy.

Her unique combination of industry, entrepreneurial, and investment experience enables her to support founders and management teams through the critical milestones of company creation, clinical development, fundraising, strategic partnering, and value creation.

Outside the office, Letizia can be found with her two teenage sons, whether on the athletics track, training horses or watching formula 1 grand prix.
